This arbutus wood Ergo hammer was hand-crafted by Deborah McCann in her home in Canada and has a mid-size grip with a rounded ellipsoid, 29 cm in length. The Ergo was developed with the intent to achieve a sharper angle from the pin to the head while concurrently maintaining sufficient hammer clearance above the plate struts —all while striving to optimize tuning pin control. The degree of deflection is determined by the base of the handle having one inch of clearance. These physics give the initial head-to-pin an angle of 90 degrees.

Length: 29 cm (11.5 in)

Weight: 10.5 ounces

Several tip options are available for this hammer. If you already have a tip you like, grab an adaptor at checkout (if you're a Jahn tip user, select the Jahn adaptor specifically). If you don't have a tip, get our custom Ergo tuning hammer tips, which are made by Belgian supplier Taffijn Piano Supply. These tips screw directly into the head and do not require an adaptor.
